Prepping for Change

9.17.2014
There is a flurry of preparations happening at our house these days.  I am mostly focused on prep for Baby C to arrive in just 10 days.

I took out all of the little girl clothes we have and washed and folded them. There are not many, mostly because my wonderful church friends are throwing me a baby shower this Thursday and I know there will be a lot of cute little girly clothing being given!

Yesterday I had contractions for about an hour and I remembered just how awful they are.  Good thing they are cutting this baby out!  I have to say I looove a scheduled c-section.

Matt and I went through our kitchen cupboards this week and weeded out things we are sending to Goodwill that won't be moving across country with us.  Now....we just have to do that with every room in the house. Sheesh.

This Saturday we are celebrating my birthday and fulfilling a promise to the redheads to go to NYC for the day.  38 weeks pregnant? Yes. Yes indeed.  We have a fairly lax day planned.  The requests from the girls are to see the Statue of Liberty (from afar...Ella has banned boat trips), go to Central Park and visit Dylan's Candy Bar.  Matt and I wanted to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge (just over 1 mile long) and have pizza at Grimaldi's.  Just like my girls' weekend.  Sounds doable, right?  Say YES, even if you think I might die or give birth while crossing the Brooklyn Bridge.

Sounds lovely! Have Matt bring a folding chair so you can stop on the bridge and rest!

When Jared and Luke were there this summer and crossed the Brooklyn bridge they both said it was a lot further/tougher than they thought it would be. Just a heads up

Yes, Dave agrees with Ellen about the length of the Brooklyn Bridge. Although he did it in a downpour, he was an exhausted, sweaty, soaking wet mess by the end and said he would never do it again. Food for thought. And speaking of food, mmmm. Pizza.
