What a Wicky!

1.30.2006
Today Ella is playing quietly in the downstairs den while I am trying to plan her Birthday invitations on the computer and all of the sudden I have that mommy moment when it becomes TOO quiet.

When I look over her back is to me and she has found a baby wipes container, opened just the little top lid and is ripping out wipes and throwing them over her shoulders with constantly rotating hands...left, right, left, right, left, right, and they're flying! I grab the camera and sneak up in front of her.

She doesn't even notice me since she is so happily engaged in her path of destruction. I say her name and when she looks up...CLICK! I get the first reactuion shot. Here's the photo...

OREO...Oh No!

1.28.2006
Today Ella stumbled upon an OREO cookie. She was in love. After she was done we had to give her a full bath because she was so covered in chocolate.

Family SWIM

1.21.2006
At the end of last year I had a great idea to have one day a month when the women of our family can meet together without children and do projects and crafts and visit together. After much planning, we had our first meeting of the "Family SWIM" on January 21st. SWIM stands for Sisters, Wives, Individuals & Mothers which I felt encompassed a lot of the roles that women have. Everyone brought snacks and we had a great time. Next month we are starting to do classes. Our first class is being taught by Heather on how to make a "Taggy Blanket" and I am so excited.

R.I.P. Jett Air II: The Follow-Up!

1.20.2006
I have been continually searching eBay for the rip off version of the Jet Air II which is called the Lady Remington Glamour Curl. The last one was used and went for $60, so my hope was dim. Today, I checked again and lo and behold! A BRAND NEW Glamour Curl for $9.99 or Best Offer. Now, I was excited enough that I would have paid twice that amount, but when I see "Best Offer" I can't help myself. I offer them $5.99 and they accepted! Oh sweet mercy! Now all that is left ot do is wait at the mailbnox every day with breathless anticipation for it's arrival.

I was a fool to ever leave your side
Me minus you is such a lonely ride
The breakup we had has made me lonesome and sad
I realize I love you 'cause I want you bad, hey, hey

Hey, Reunited and it feels so good
Reunited 'cause we understood
There's one perfect fit
And, sugar, this one is it
We both are so excited 'cause we're reunited, hey, hey!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Matt Turns 28!

1.16.2006
Today was Matt's birthday! I am so glad he is finally 28, since we have a 3 month gap when I am the "older woman". Yesterday we went to Logan and had a little party with my family. we went out to dinner and played some games afterwards. We had some cake and Matt got to wear the "Birthday Boy" badge. So fun!
Today we dropped off Ella at 3:oo pm with Louise and Matt and I headed to SLC for the day. First, we went mandolin shopping. Matt asked everyone for money for his birthday so he could purchase a mandolin. Then we went to dinner at Trofi. It was delicious. Afterwards we drove around the Avenues for a bit until we found the Chocolate Shop that little people run. The chocolate was okay, but it was $19.00 a pound so we only had a few pieces each.

After chocolate we headed to the Opera to see Pucinni's "La Rondine". It was beautiful. Here's us at the Opera...
After the Opera we headed home, but not before stopping at a 7-11 for some nachos and a hotdog...We're so high brow. What a fabulous birthday it was!

Fun with Table Foods!

1.12.2006

Ella has started eating more table foods these days and is doing really well. Tonight she ate pasta with spinache and prunes and this was the result. As she practices she gets better at this...right?

R.I.P. Jett Air II

1.10.2006
Last week a tragedy struck my life. The Christmas of my sixteenth year I received an odd looking hair curler set called the Jett Air II. It curled my hair like no "Hot Rollers" ever could. Over the years the Jett Air saw me through many nights out and dates, my mission and, yes, even my wedding day. Well, last week it broke and after close examination I have realized it cannot be fixed. I looked them up on ebay and they sell for $60. So, after 12 long years together, it seems I must go forward without Jett Air in my life. Jett Air, if you're out there, this one's for you...

No I can't forget tomorrow
When I think of all my sorrow
When I had you there, but then I let you go
And now it's only fair that I should let you know
What you should know

I can't live If living is without you
I can't live I can't give anymore
I can't live If living is without you
I can't give I can't give anymore

Chief Crazy Hair

1.07.2006
After a day of wearing her hair in "waggies" Ella's hair is so crazy when we take the little elastics out at the end of the day. This picture was so cute of her incognito as "Chief Crazy hair".

Tantrum Time

1.05.2006
Today marked Ella's first tantrum. I moved all of the videos back in the shelves so she couldn't reach them. She tried and tried and even attempted wedging her head into the shelves so she could reach and when she couldn't pull any out she arched her back and threw herself onto the floor. When I tried to pick her up she pinched my neck. Now the fun begins...

The Big Girl Crib

1.02.2006

Tonight was Ella's first night in the new crib. She did well and only fussed a bit. She looks so small in such a big space, but she is utilizing every inch by rolling and cramming herself in every direction.

The Destruction Era begins...

1.01.2006
Today Ella discovered the videos in the entertainment center shelves. She started on the left side and worked her way right while pulling out each video and flinging it on the floor. When she was done with the top shelves she knelt and cleared the bottom shelves methodically from right to left. When it was all empty she frolicked on the floor, pulling the videos out of their cases and chewing on choice selections. This is the beginning of the end.
