The Oscars this year were MEH. No upsets. No serious excitement. Jimmy Kimmel did a good job, but overall...meh.

Tiffany Haddish was hilarious during her time on stage, but this outfit is WAY too much! It's like a glorified Halloween costume. Salma Hayek put every single bit of crazy all on the same outfit. Holy cow! The chains, the sequins, the flounces, the boobs, the shiny handbag. Girl, you have got to take a step back.
SO CLOSE
Nicole Kidman took a risk with this one, I just didn't love the risk. The color and fit are beautiful, but the front bow is just too much for me to handle. Maybe to a more fashion-forward event? Lupita Nyongo was so close too, and I think it was the hair that pushed me over the edge of not liking this look. That is a lot of dress and a lot of gold to wear. Adding a gold hair piece and a rather fussy hair-style (from the back) was a bit too much.
Margo Robbie suffered the same "So Close' fate with this perfectly fitted gown, amazing hair and make-up, flawless jewels, and.....ummm....Christmas tree tinsel? Alison Williams is always so perfect, but if you have read this blog for any amount of time you know how I feel about nudes that are perfectly matched to your skin tone. No bueno. It just washes you out!

What can I even say about Andra Day in this look? Every. Single. Part. is a disaster. The overworked hair. The mis-matched jewelry. The horrific dress made of my grandmother's sofa cushions. The dreadful nails. The gross clutch and shoes. I mean...this is truly a disaster of epic scale. Maya Rudolph looked insane...in a bad way. I googled Maya Rudolph+Pregnant and then Maya Rudolph+Cult after I saw this outfit. Neither are true.
THE BAKED POTATO AWARD
My friend, Jimmy, pointed out that Frances McDormand looked like a baked potato. I agree! But, you know, it's Frances McDormand. She gives ZERO effs. So, joke's on us.
TOO OLD & TOO YOUNG
Sally Hawkins looked way older than she is in this look. Can't you see this look on a 65+ actress? And, listen, I loved the hair, but Viola Davis looks pretty ridiculous in this Paris Hilton inspired outfit. From the fabric to the awful matching clutch to the bubble gum pink color. It was too Elle Woods and not enough gorgeous and fierce grown-ass woman.
BEAUTIES GONE WRONG
Saoirse Ronan really disappointed me. This dress is a dreadful length, it's wrinkled, and it has nipple darts. Her hair with its dark roots is very distracting and the matchy-matchy shoes are a NO. This look on the gorgeous Emily Blunt is a crime. Maybe if we removed the sleeves and the collar and the white handbag. But, as is, it is awful.
YOUNG AND GLAM!
Zendaya looked breathtaking! She always takes fashion risks and I loved this one! Jennifer Lawrence often dresses a bit older than her age, but this look is perfectly young and glam and edgy. I love it!
Hello, Beanie Feldstein! This look for her first big red carpet is not only surprising, but it is perfection! She was this close to my Best Dressed of the entire night! Gina Rodriguez stunned in this glam look that had just the right amount of drama paired with simple hair and make-up.
Octavia Spencer ALWAYS brings the gorgeous to the red carpet and she did it again! This is lovely and dramatic and gorgeous. Jennifer Garner is another red carpet stunner who always looks elegant and beautiful. I loved this color on her!
WHITE HOT STYLE!
Laura Dern looked stunning in this perfectly paired look. She looks fresh and beautiful and age-appropriate. Mary J. Blige was also serving it in this white dress. I love that it is elegant, but just edgy enough to pair with her hair and tattoos!
FIERCE STYLE
Danai Gurira was killing it with this fierce, but feminine, style! I loved this! Taraji P. Hensen was literally breathtaking! She always does the reed carpet right and she rocked it again!
SPECIAL SHOUT OUT
Keala Settle looked just okay on the red carpet, but her dress for the performance was drop dead gorgeous! This is the perfect shape for her body and was a great color and amount of glitter for the stage!
OSCARS 2018 WORST DRESSED
This was not a tough call. This was an easy call. Whoopie Goldberg always looks stupid on the red carpet, but this was unusually atrocious, even for her. I also feel personally betrayed by Christian Siriano. You think you know a designer. You cheer them on when they dress curvy women and save the day for Leslie Jones. And then they put this down the runway. You broke my trust, Christian.
OSCARS 2018 BEST DRESSED
Kelly Marie Tran looked INCREDIBLE! I mean, this is how you hit the red carpet at the Oscars. Her entire look was flawless and I think it was a particularly good choice to go a bit sexy since she played a role so adorably frumpy in The Last Jedi.
