When Matt's parents came out from Utah to Pennsylvania last year when Jude was born, everybody cried when they left (except their son...shocking). At that point, Matt and I had a discussion about potentially looking for a new job back west. All of Matt's siblings have now ended up in Utah and as they have kids and their children grow up together as cousins we were beginning to feel that pull to move back. We decided Matt could start quietly checking out job opportunities in Utah.
He submitted resumes and went through a few interview processes, but it wasn't right...yet. Recently he went through the process again and over Labor Day weekend Matt was flown to Utah for a final interview with Intermountain Health Care.
This week we were offered and accepted a job in the Salt Lake City area.
And we're moving. In October.
Yes, I know. This is insanity.
But it has to be. The timing of the job can't wait and we talked to my OBGYN and she said as long as my recovery is normal I can move three weeks after Baby C is born. So three weeks it is.
I am stressed. But this is a good move for our family and we feel it is right. So, we'll just do our best to make it work and let God take care of the rest.

Haha you ARE insane! I hope everything goes smoothly for you guys.
I just started reading your blog last week (it is excellent, by the way). I'm really excited for you guys! To have so much family so close = heaven! I hope your move is as boring and uneventful as possible. :-)
Congrats! It may be stressful now, but the rewards will be worth it!!
Is it weird that I'm happy that you will be close enough to meet you in person ? #imnotastalkeriswear
Awesome that you get to be close to family. That's my number one wish right now.
Stressful, of course, that you will be moving so quickly. Will Intermountain Healthcare be helping in anyway with the move? If so, hire movers, woman. DO. IT.
I'm excited for you guys...even with the insanity of moving so soon after Miss C makes her entrance. Things will work out, and your family will love to be close again. Congratulations!
this made me cry for so many reasons. I'm so happy for you.
This is great news! My husband has two sisters that are nurses for IHC and they love it! Any idea what area you are going to live in? You're closer to Emily too!
Congratulations! I know how nice is is to live near family and I'm sure it will be so wonderful for you.
YAY!! That is exciting and scary all at once. I am so happy for you and your family. I love living close to all of my family. It's the best.
You will hold the official title of Wonder Woman if you sew costumes, push out a new baby and make a long distance move in the span of a month!
Congratulations and good luck!
Wow! That's awesome! Good luck!! We moved states when Ollie was 2.5 months old and I thought that was crazy. You're just a tad bit more crazy. ;) ;)
Congrats! So exciting
Wow, time to call in the missionaries/home teachers/visiting teachers/everyone to help! The good thing about moving right after a baby is you'll hopefully get a ton of help! Sounds like a great move for you guys, and congrats to Matt on the new job.
That's awesome! Family is where it's at and I'm glad it worked out. I'm curious to see what area you end up. Cedar Hills is the best! ;)
What big news! I never get to see you and I'm still so sad that you will be so far away. : ) I can feel, just from this post, what a great thing this is. I am so happy for you guys!! Best of luck, Ahern family! And all our love!
You guys deserve it and I'm very happy for you!
Congratulations! Living close to family will be worth it!
Great news. My husband works for Intermountain as well in Downtown SLC. Good luck with the move.
I give people a hard time about wanting to live in Utah, but we were there this summer and it really is a great place. Happy for you guys!
Can I make a plug for Herriman, Ut? Fabulous, family friendly place. Very happy for you. ITM
