I love that philosophy! If others are happy then why not be supportive of their choices. Isn't happiness the goal?

I don't feel like I use my religion to judge the Jenner character. I use my common sense. :) I just feel like there are some areas in life that are black and white and society has turned everything gray. I don't hate Caitlyn, I feel supremely sorry for her.
We're on our first week of summer and I AM EXHAUSTED. Dave is going out of town for work next week--for the ENTIRE WEEK. I might collapse of exhaustion this week and he's here to help! I don't know what I'm going to do next week. Seriously I'm dreading it. After three solid hours of responding to child requests this morning I told them I was going to take 15 minutes for a shower. ALL 4 KIDS NEEDED ME DURING THAT 15 MINUTES. The baby I understand, but the other kids? NO. I GET 15 MINUTES TO SHOWER WITHOUT HAVING TO HELP THEM WITH SOMETHING.
I couldn't do it. The no screens. I would die.
Both of our cars are in the bleeding us dry stage. I hate it, but I also hate car payments! What a conundrum.

My kids were throwing up with no other symptoms last month. And it happened with my daughter last year, as well. Apparently we had some new GI virus. They'd act totally fine and then randomly throw up. It "only" lasted a week this last time, but last year it was a two week disaster. Our pediatrician's office told us to wait for a 48 hour stretch without puke and then we'd be clear to be social again. It was so brutal when we'd get to like 36 hours and someone would throw up. I hope your cute boy gets feeling better soon!!
I love you but couldn't disagree more with the statement "Why do we use religion to make judgments
about others' choices that make them happy?" By that same argument I guess my husband is free to have an affair if it makes him happy, I mean who am I to judge.... Or if you're a serial killer and want to kill people I guess if it makes you happy go ahead.... There is way more to life than being happy. That is not even close to what this life is about. How about courage, and faith, wisdom-I think those are much loftier and more realistic goals. There is right and wrong. Whether or not the rest of the world agrees is irrelevant. You can't change eternal truth no matter how hard you try or how bad you want to. I couldn't care less what Bruce Jenner chooses for himself. But calling him a hero and teaching our children there's nothing wrong with going against God's plan is scary and reckless. PS -wickedness never was happiness, period. He's not nearly happy as you think, trust me. I have kept quiet through the controversy because everyone knows once someone's opinion is set there's no point in arguing. But I figured this was as safe a place as any to vent!

I'm sick of hearing about Caitlyn / Bruce, but totally support their decision to be exactly who they want to be.
Would much rather hear more about everyday heroes - those that keep sane despite raising kids. :-)
Emilie--I second the random thoughts posts--my favorite of yours.
Some comments to your thoughts:
1. I applaud you on the loving way you have summed up Bruce Jenner. Whether you are transgender, (or gay or bisexual) and this fact is WHO THEY ARE, leave them be. Bruce/Caitlyn seems much happier because he is finally being true to himself.
Main point--Treat others as you would treat yo'self, I always say. The Golden Rule :-)
