Lately

I woke up this morning and thought to myself,

TIRED is the new black.

After a three week break the redheads were back to school this morning.  They have four more weeks and then we get a summer break and the school year resets.  This year round school business is pretty dreadful. I am not a fan.

After a week with two sick babies we are back on our feet and I am starting to adjust, finally, to Utah and having five kids.  Lately I have been re-reading one of my favorite books of all time, Mitten Strings for God, and it's inspiring me (as it always does) to step back and take more joy in this season of life.  Being a Mom is hard, but it can still be joyful.

Our backyard has been a constant source of happiness this past month or two and putting the trampoline back there has made all the difference.  We have been busy inviting family and friends over, grilling hot dogs, roasting marshmallows and playing our hearts out.  The trampoline has made us the most popular house in the neighborhood and there are always neighborhood kids knocking at our door and staying for hours.

Cecilia has decided that sitting up on her own is for sucks.  Instead she is moving straight towards crawling.  I wore my glasses for two days this week to give my eyes a break from contact lenses and she was very suspicious of this change.  Notice the slight question mark on her face.

Life is busy and happy and difficult and crazy and lovely and rowdy.  Just as it should be.
