when we needed it most.

10.24.2014
when we needed it most women from our church came and cleaned my kitchens and bathrooms.

when we needed it most friends watched our kids for hours so we could pack.

when we needed it most men from church and our neighborhood moved box after box and couches and beds and stored them in moving pods.

when we needed it most women brought home-cooked meals in disposable containers so we could be nourished while we worked.

when we needed it most my sweet friend sat me down and said, "i'm going to speak to you as a mother to my daughter" and told me to slow down. to rest. that she would take care of me and my family. and she did.

when we needed it most we slept in a friends' guest room and she showed up at the door before the sun came up to take my fussy baby so i could get some sleep.

when we needed it most friends prayed for our family. they called. they sent cards in the mail. they spoke words of encouragement. they lifted us up.

when we needed it most my children were cared for like they were family. little girls were bathed and their hair braided. little boy was sung to sleep. little baby was snuggled while she fussed.

when we needed it most banana muffins were made and packed for our journey.

when we needed it most schedules were set up to clean our home - top to bottom - AFTER we leave so we didn't have to stay longer and wear ourselves out more than we already had.

when we needed it most words of encouragement streamed in from all types of social media - from friends and strangers alike.

when we needed it most baskets were made for each of our kids, filled with games, activities and fun for our long road trip. suited to each of them personally.

when we needed it most i had a  "mom" for 3 days - i haven't ever needed that more than i did this weekend.

when we needed it most help was given in ways we didn't even know we needed.

when we needed it most god provided.
when we needed it most friends stepped in.
when we needed it most prayers were given in our behalf.
when we needed it most we were loved.

Sounds like you have a great support system! That's so nice. If you ever need someone to entertain the girls, I live in Layton and have 2 girls that would love to play. Good luck getting all settled. I can also help move things if you need extra hands.

Oh, Emilie! This is so beautiful, the words and the experience they speak of! When Heavenly Father asks us to do impossible things, He makes it possible, so often through the loving hands and hearts of dear others! I am so so glad you all have been so well cared for. Thinking of and praying for you guys!!

Oh, that is so awesome. I'm so glad you had that kind of support. I felt the same when we moved (2 streets over) while 8 1/2 months pregnant.
