Sunday Sewing

3.07.2009

I just got this book called 100 Applique Motifs and I have to say I am SO EXCITED!

It is written by a cute Japanese artist and she includes lots of patterns for adorable little geishas, flowers and animals. I will be making some shirts for the girls and onesie gifts for friends having babies.

And maybe there is another quilt in my future......Nah. Maybe not. The last one (made more than two years ago) nearly killed me.

I am domestic enough...who needs quilting?

***********************************************
I also went to JoAnns yesterday and got this lush fabric for my first sewing project for the Presser Foot group. (Wait... they're not going to keep working these projects up until they force me to make a quilt are they?!)

***********************************************

My friend Dana Delaware told me about the site, Sew Mama Sew, and I have to say....it is fabulous! Every time I visit I want to bust out the sewing machine right then and create something beautiful. You must go and check it out!

While researching interfacing yesterday (holy cow...I sound like an old lady with cats.) I stumbled across this delightful fabric designer named Erin McMorris. Yes, I still love Amy Butler, but sometimes she is so....classy. Yes, that is distasteful sometimes. Sometimes you need a bit of whimsical juvenille fun in your fabric and this Erin chick is right on target. Please to enjoy...

So much goodness here! I love the fabrics you picked and Erin's fabrics are fabulously fun! Still thinking about joining "Presser Foot" after having made my very first sewing project (a hobo bag) a couple of weekends ago... so much to do and so little time though!
