Something's Gotta Give

3.24.2009
I am stressed.

More stressed than I have been in a really long time.
And I need to do some thinking.
About what I really want and what I need to let go of.

But don't I do this every six months?
And then I feel relief and I take more on.
And then it builds back up again.
I know how to say no...so why don't I?

This is my desk tonight.
After I cleaned it.
And this desk is what my life looks like.
Unorganized, hurried, chaotic and muddled.
Something's gotta give.

Wish I knew what to tell you. Take a deep breath. That always seems to help me.

I am a regular blog reader and woke up thinking about you this morning. I prayed for you, then went to check email and read blogs and saw this...how amazing is God that already He is laying you on peoples hearts so they can pray! I will keep praying for you as you make decisions about what should stay and what should go. :o)

Being stressed is not a fun place to be ~ I'll include you in my prayers :) Romans 8:26-28 have been an encouragement to me lately...

I am not sure if you live in a place where getting our for a walk is possible. But fresh air, and raising my heart rate are both a sure remedy for my stress. Breathe deep.

One thing at a time... take a deep breath and have a cup of coffee or tea. Play some relaxing music. Make a list of priorities and start crossing off! Good luck!

Hang in there girl - this too shall pass. You will get it all sorted out! I have gotten to the point where I look at the days where I am stressed and reevaluating things as gifts - seriously! Without them nothing changes, slows down or allows one to truly take a moment to stop and enjoy the journey. A great book that has helped me so much is The Power of A Positive No by William Ury.

Hope the stress vacates your life soon with lots of peace and happiness in its wake!

Coming for an insane multitasker and a person who has no clue how to say no because I really want to do it all...you either decide that you are okay missing out on some things, or lower your standards. When I have a tough time I think, "am I okay if this isn't perfect but just done?" Sometimes I am and I keep that project, other times I'm not and I have to let something go. Hopefully that helps!

although this may not help much, I must tell you that your desk looks VERY clean and organized to me!! the fact that you were able to point to and label each item is astonishing to me!?! just knowing what you have going on is the start! from there, you can make a list and mark it off ... accomplish things ... put that little check mark next to a completed task and get that positive endorphin!! you can DO it! (and now you've inspired me to clean up my act ... after I take a photo first!) ;-)

Breathe. Sometimes it is better to just take one of those days away from everything. I will be thinking about you.

girl I know how it is... Your desk looks like mine except I don't have the hair elastics, but I have the boys nintendo ds I took from them on mine. LOL

Breath deep and have a good cup of tea and remember there is always tomorrow.
