Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end.
With all of the hubbub of CHA and my travels we have left an exciting family announcement until now. Yes, we just recently moved across country for a fellowship, however Matt has accepted a new and permanent position with a physicians group in Ephrata, PA. We are still tied to our lease here in Delaware until June, so Matt will commute 1.5 hours each way until then.
We will not live in Ephrata, but will set up shop in nearby Lancaster, PA. Famous for it's Amish communities. We are so excited about this move and look forward to spending at least 3 years with this job and in this new area.
I am going to really miss Delaware. I felt an immediate belonging here and I will always remember this time of our lives, though brief, with immense happiness.
As we get ready to move we will be checking areas for good school districts since little Ella should be starting school in a year or two. Lancaster looks totally beautiful and fun and filled with opportunities and experiences. I know we will be happy there. We are beyond thrilled!

Congratulations!!
You'll love Lancaster. We used to live not far from there... my mom would always take us there (the little shops are so fun!) when we were little.
That is a great relief to ya'll, I'm sure. I can't imagine what you might have felt when you found out that he had to start looking for another job! Yea!!
Just to keep things in perspective, I commute 1.5 hours to work and back everyday too...and I live and work in SLC! Too bad it will be him driving versus riding a train or bus. Would you guys consider getting an apartment in PA just for those in betweens when he has to work late or is too tired to drive, etc?
YES!!!! that is so exciting!!! congrats! Lancaster is lovely and full of wonderful things for the kiddos : )
HUGE congrats!
You will be happy no matter where you go...cause you're a happy person.
Curt & I were so excited to hear this when Matt told us on Monday! Sad that you'll be leaving Delaware, happy that you'll still be close enough for visiting! You'll love Lancaster, it has kinda the same old-world feel that New Castle does, with the benefit of outlet shopping!
There's a lot more Delaware to get through before you move though, namely, the BEACH! And at least one more crab crack. The crabs aren't as good in May, but they're still crabs!
got to your blog via October Afternoon's and was surprised to find another scrapper in delaware...and then to find you're leaving. lol. they're aren't many of us....at least where i am anyway (lewes).
lancaster is beautiful. good luck!
Life can only be sweeter, when you are a little closer to Pittsburgh!
Emilie...have fun in Lancaster..my family and I have visited there twice.
It has: Beautiful scenery...Hershey Park...scrapbooking...great food!
What's not to love?

I am glad that Matt was offered such an awesome position...but we miss you guys.
Maybe you could try to come back this way next move.
Just think about it.
Also that blog mix is hands down the best CD I have had in years. I listen to it nonstop and my little babies just dance and dance! To bad you can't market it.
THANK YOU.
you're gonna love it. so pretty and fun! but i'll miss delaware for you.
Was excited to read that you live in tiny Delaware! Sorry to read that you are leaving the first state! Cheers to new beginnings!
congrats on the new job! I've never been to Ephrata, PA but a friend has -- and she told me about the "GREEN DRAGON" -- a huge place that every Friday has people selling everything you can think of -- hope to one day get to go. When you go, I'm sure you'll let us know about it! Sandy W in VA
Congrats on the job! PA is a great place to live. My cousin suggested it to us when she knew we wanted to get out of So. Cal.
Try www.city-data.com for some great advice on schools and the area.
Keep us posted on the move!
Yah! Congrats to Matt! Maybe this will make us closer?? And we'll actually get to scrap together??? :) BTW, I have heard great things about Solanco SD. And you'll have to check out the Ephrata General Store Warehouse. We just had an order delivered from there - chicken for $1.29/lb!!
And there's actual local scrapbooking stores in Lancaster County as opposed to Delaware :) :) :)
Another PA girl here! I am sure you will love the state... I've lived here all my life and love it! You must find your way to the "Flower & Craft Warehouse" in Blue Ball... they have a wonderful scrapping selection and just about everything else you could imagine. And "Times To Remember" is a superb scrapbooking store located at the Hershey Outlets. I'm sure you've already scoped out many of the possibilities, but just in case, thought I'd tell ya! :)
